Role: Graduate Engineer Trainee - BIW & MIG Welding Fixture Design

Position Overview:

As a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) in the field of Robotic Fixture Design, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for creating and developing fixtures for various applications such as BIW (Body in White) Fixture, Mig Welding Fixture, and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). You will utilize your basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and proficiency in SolidWorks to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of robotic fixtures for manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fixture Design: Collaborate with experienced engineers to design fixtures that are capable of securely holding and positioning workpieces in the manufacturing process. This includes BIW fixtures for automotive body parts, Mig welding fixtures, and Special Purpose Machines
(SPMs).

• GD&T Application: Apply your basic knowledge of GD&T principles to ensure that fixtures meet precise dimensional and tolerance requirements, allowing for accurate and repeatable manufacturing processes.

• SolidWorks Utilization: Utilize SolidWorks software to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of fixtures. Ensure that designs are optimized for efficiency and ease of manufacturing.

• Testing and Validation: Participate in testing and validation of fixtures, making necessary adjustments to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality control, and production teams, to ensure that fixture designs meet their requirements and specifications.

• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of fixture designs, modifications, and test results.

• Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in robotic fixture design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges in robotic fixture design.
